Viola M. “Patty” Hatcher, 77, of Cabin Creek, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024,at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.
Born June 13, 1947, at Bud, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Moran and Laura O’Neal Burks.
Patty was a former beautician, cook, and caregiver. She was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed wallpapering, upholstering, and painting where she would take nothing and make something.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert L. Burks; her husband, Kennard G. Hatcher; Father and mother in-law Lester and Eula Basham Hatcher, two infant sisters, Bertha and Kelly; one infant brother, Ronnie; three sisters, Dolly O’Neal, Naomi Moran, and Rheba Jagers; two brothers, James Richard Burks and Don Moran; and two stepsons, Paul and Randy Hatcher.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Ronda (James) Stone; two stepdaughters, Sharon (Wayne) Young and Cyndie (Rick) Hypes; three sisters, Leona Sizemore, Connie (Jim) Walker, and Alma (Okie) Snyder; two brothers, Bill (Anna) Burks and Everett (Mary) Burks; one grandchild, Caitlyn A. Stone; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special thanks to Beverly for her love, compassion, and care during the last 5 months. Many thanks to Hospice of Southern WV for their love, compassion, and care, especially Tonya and Amy.
Graveside service and burial will be 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley with Pastor Curtis England officiating.
For those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Pete Kirk.
