Velma Jean Tyree

Velma Jean Shrewsberry Tyree, 65, of Bolt, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Princeton Community Hospital of injuries resulting from a recent accident. Velma was born on May 21, 1944 at Bud, WV to the late William McKinley and Evie Louellen Rinehart Shrewsberry. She was a homemaker and a member of the Breckenridge Baptist Church at Bolt. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Tyree of Bolt; a son, Larry K. Brooks, Jr. of Granite Falls, NC; daughters, Crystal Brooks of Bolt, Lisa Tolliver and husband, Wayne of Fairdale; grandchildren, Alyssa Wilson of Harper, Natalie Wilson of Harper, Andrew Tolliver of Fairdale, Stephanie Tolliver of Fairdale, Amber Berkel and husband, William of Beckley; great granddaughter, Isabelle Berkel of Beckley; brothers, James Shrewsberry of Harpers Ferry, WV and Edgar Shrewsberry of Columbus, OH; sisters, Geneva Mullens of Mullens and Eunice Shrewsberry of Lodi, NJ; a large extended family, and special longtime friends, Gladys Carter and Dolly Scarbro. Visitation will be at the Breckenridge Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from noon until 2:00 PM, the funeral service will be at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Dewey Lowe officiating.
