Vada Mae Ellison

Vada Mae Shiflet Ellison, 93, of Oak Hill passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born December 24, 1929 in Kingston, WV she was the daughter of the late Roy and Bessie Collins Shiflet.

Vada was a homemaker, she enjoyed working puzzles and volunteering at the Oak Hill Hospital gift shop, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley Ellison, Sr.; brother, Ray Shiflet; and sisters, Helen Stanley, Mary Walton, Silva Shiflet, and Katie Sink.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her 2 sons, Stanley Ellison, Jr. (Connie) and Charles Ellison (Patti); 4 grandchildren, Justin Ellison, Joshua Ellison, Christina Terrell, and Shawna Ellison; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine Coleman.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Jerome Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill.

Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Oak Hill.
