Thelma Lou Gardner

Thelma Lou Gardner, 61, of Oak Hill, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at CAMC Memorial surrounded by her loving family. 

Born January 14, 1964 in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Smith) Bragg and Howard Bragg. 

Thelma was a homemaker of many years and loved flea markets. 

In addition to her mother, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Shelby Jeffries; husband, Earnest Gardner; and grandson, Brandon Gardner. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her father, Howard Bragg of Hilltop; seven sisters, Geraldine, Barbara, Nancy, Teresa, Vonita, Martha, and Janice; two daughters, Christina Gardner and her companion, Jeremy Coy of Oak Hill and Deloris Lyons and her husband, Daniel of Thayer; one son, Earnest Gardner (Hammer) and his wife, Stephanie of Bradley; bonus son, Shawn Dean of Oak Hill; six grandchildren, Dallas Gardner, Travis Gardner, Augustus Lyons, Mason, Hunter, and Summer Gardner; six great grandchildren, Natalie, Noah, Colten, Holly, Brandon, and Curtis; and her companion, Wally Gardner of Oak Hill. 

Services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Pastor Dana Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrah Cemetery, Backus Mountain. 

Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
