Obituary

Steven Mark Jones June 21, 1957 – September 20, 2026

Steven Mark Jones, 69, passed away on September 20, 2026. Steve was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Sylvia and Bobby Jones.

Steve is survived by his son, Lucas Mark Jones and his girlfriend Kimberly; his daughter, Leslie Nunn, and her husband, David; and his beloved grandchildren, Carter and Laiken Jones and Colten and Lauren Nunn. He is also survived by his brothers, Keith (Debbie) Morton, Bob (Trish) Jones, and Rick (Cheryl) Jones; his sister, Diane (Kenny) Bailey; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Steve served his country in the United States Marine Corps, traveling the world during his years of service. He carried with him the discipline, loyalty, strength, and integrity that would define so much of his life.

A talented mechanic by trade, Steve possessed the work ethic of ten men and the integrity of one hundred. He was a generous and caring man who never hesitated to help someone in need. Steve was known for telling it like it was, if you didn’t want a truthful answer, you better not ask him the question. His honesty was unwavering.

Steve was the best “girl dad”. He was kind, gentle, protective and loving, always making his daughter feel loved and cherished. He was also the best “boy dad”, offering his son love, guidance, wisdom, and the best life advice. He was incredibly proud of both of his children and everything they have accomplished. His children knew how deeply he loved them and that he would always be their biggest supporter.

Being a grandfather was one of Steve’s greatest joys. He was immensely proud of each of his grandchildren and loved hearing about whatever sport they were involved in. He took great pride in cheering them on and celebrating their accomplishments. His grandchildren brought him great joy and pride; he loved them deeply.

Steve treasured the simple things in life, a cold beer, spending time with his brother Keith, and enjoying the delicious food his sister-in-law Debbie prepared for him.

Steve showed his love for his family through his hard work, unwavering honesty, and selfless devotion to them. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and always put the needs of others before his own.

Steve leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love, wisdom, humor, and strength with them always.

He will be deeply missed, loved beyond words, and remembered every day until the day we all meet again in Heaven.
