Steven Dale Bennett

Steven Dale Bennett , 63, of Mount Hope, WV passed away at his home on Monday, November 02, 2020.

Born December 08, 1956 at Fayette County, WV he was the son of Reba Annie Wright Bennett Callaway and the late Charles Lee Bennett.

Steve was a US Marine Corps veteran as well as Army National Guard, having served his country for over 26 years. He loved farming, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family, and loved his two little dogs, Biscuit and Bandit. Steve was the best father, son, grandpa, and brother you could have asked for.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Elmer and Berta Lee Wright, brother; Larry "Rusty" Bennett, and several aunts and uncles..

In addition to his mother, Reba, those left to cherish his memory is his beloved finance of 18 years, Bonnie Bennett; his brothers, Charlie Bennett (Rita) of Oak Hill, Elmer Callaway (Jessica) of White Oak; cherished by children; Lori Hughes of Daniels, Melissa Bennett of Maple Fork, and Jennifer Smith (Jason) of Pax; and his best friend, Tom Light who was more like a father to him.

Steve is also survived by stepdaughters; Missy Duncan of Pax, Lea West of Glen White and Joyce Aliff of Pensacola, FL, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and step grandchildren who he loved all the same.

Pallbearers are Jason Smith, Levi Smith, Christopher Hughes, Josh Donell, Turtle Hylton, and Doug Hughes.

Services will be held Friday, November 6th, 2020, 12:00 Noon, at the Maple Fork Baptist Church. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Graveside committal to follow at the Wright Family Cemetery, Pack Branch, WV with US Marine Corps military honors.

Those planning to attend should use proper COVID 19 precautions by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet.
