Stephen 'Steve" Allan Broughman

Stephen 'Steve" Allan Broughman, 66, of Oak Hill passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born March 14, 1959 in Oak Hill he was the son of Peggy Anne (Alexander) Broughman and the late Hugh Daniel Broughman.

Steve retired from the phone company as a cable splicer after working there for 30 years. After retirement he stayed active as a custodian for Oak Hill High School. He was a member of the CWA Member since 2007, and a former board member of SSCOOP. In his leisure he enjoyed being outside working on his yard and cutting grass and hay. He was part in helping Oak Hill High School Soccer and part of the band. Steve and Cathy used to bowl in several different bowling leagues. He loved his community and could always find him supporting Oak Hill.

Along with his father he is preceded in death by his brother, John W. Broughman.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Cathy Lynn (Henson) Broughman; daughter, Stephanie Lipscomb (Jared); son, Stephen Broughman II (Devyn); mother, Peggy Broughman; granddaughter, Lainey Jayne Broughman; sister in law, Jeannie Morris (David); and nephews, Samuel Morris and Jacob Morris.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Mike Hicks officiating. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.

Visitation for friends will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the funeral home in Oak Hill.
