Stacey Ann Tomlin-Cox, 52, of Fayetteville, WV passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on December 15, 2025. She was the daughter of the late James David and Elizabeth Tomlin. She lived life on her own terms, fiercely. For the last 33 years she and her husband, Scott, built a life filled with ups, downs, in between, and rowdy boys. Her boys, or her ducks as she lovingly called them, were the light of her life and purpose. Justyn and wife Kelsey and Carson and wife Mekalynn kept her on her toes constantly and filled her heart with love. She was fortunate to have a large family and many friends that had also become family, all of which we know are grieving with us.
In addition to her boys and husband she is survived by Father-in-law Mike Cox and wife Rhonda, Siblings in law Carrie Kincaid and husband Phil, Heather Vandall and husband Steve, Michelle Tomlin, and Shawna Cox, Jennifer Hughes and husband Scott; Nephews, Cayden Cox, Corbin Tomlin, and Dalton Vandall. With a large family also comes those that she is now reunited with, Her parents, mother- in-law Brenda Plunkett, and brother-in-law Shawn Cox.
Stacey was known for her love of the woods, quick wit and snark, and a master at making sure everyone knew exactly what was on her mind. If you didn’t have anything nice to say, she was who you wanted to go sit beside. Always by her side for those snarky conversations were her best friends Jenifer Tipton Adamczyk, Michelle Thomas Cox, and LeeAnn Webb.
She will be laid to rest at Woolwine-Tomlin Cemetery in Beckwith during a casual graveside service at 2:00 PM on Saturday December 20, 2025. Paul Bearers will be Cayden Cox, Corbin Tomlin, JF Richardson, and a host of her “favorite” coworkers from Fayetteville Lowe’s.
In lieu of flowers, go sit in the wild or tell someone what is on your mind in her honor, she would enjoy that way more anyway.
