Sheila Kaye Carter Hurley, 73, of Mount Hope passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2206 at Hilltop Nursing Center with her loving family by her side.

Born August 7, 1953 in Kilsyth, WV she was the daughter of  the late Carmen Neil Carter and Billie Dove Carter.

Sheila was a loving sister, wife, and mother. She lived life to the fullest and loved her family and will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Donald Hurley of Mount Hope; son, Donnie Hurley and fiancé Melinda of Grandview; sisters, Peggy Brock of Corliss and Bonnie Marshall of Daniels; and brother, Joe Carter and his wife Mary of Concord, NC; granddaughters, Dessie Hurley, Ashlynn Hurley, and Brooke Hurley; son-in-law, Ricky Wood; several nieces and nephews as well as Kim, Rhonda, Joey, Mikey, Brian, Carson, Amanda, Lori and Crystal.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley with Pastor Ken Souder officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service at the mausoleum in Beckley.
