Sally Quarrie Cales

After a long battle with cancer, Sally Quarrie Cales, 70, of Oak Hill, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born August 26, 1941, at Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Eunice Irene Plummer Quarrie and stepdaughter of the late Supok Kim Quarrie. She was retired from the WV Department of Health and Human Resources. Mrs. Cales was a member of the Oak Hill Alliance Church and TOPS #WV341 in Oak Hill. Survivors include her husband, Julius Allen "Buddy" Cales; two daughters, Jane Kimberly Given and husband, Johnny Lee and Denise Nichole Kelly and husband, Robert Andrew Kelly, all of Oak Hill; a sister, Kimberley Scafide and husband, Santos of Elmhurst, Illinois, and a grandson, Joshua Cory Given of Oak Hill. Mrs. Cales was cremated. A memorial service will be on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at 3 P. M. at the Oak Hill Alliance Church with Pastor Albert Bowman officiating.
