Ruth Ann (Martin) Thomas

Ruth Ann (Martin) Thomas, 78, of Oak Hill passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Hilltop Center in Hilltop, WV.

Born February 14, 1947 in Sullivan, WV she was the daughter of the late Toy and Kathern Jane (Conner) Martin.

Ruth worked for the Fayette County courthouse as a custodian, and in her leisure she enjoyed camping, fishing, watching sports especially her Tennessee Volunteers which she never missed a game, and most importantly she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Thomas; daughter, Lisa Jo Thomas; son, Douglas Thomas Jr.; brothers, Eddie Martin and Roger Martin; and sisters, Carol Roberts and Betty Toombs.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her loving son, James (Christy) Thomas; daughter in law, Christy Thomas and special friend (Brady Allen); brothers, James Martin, Mike (Neva) Martin, and John (Cheryl) Martin; sisters, Linda Leffell and Deborah Aliff; grandsons, Matthew (Christy) Thomas and Christopher Thomas (Kelsey); granddaughter, Cassie Thomas; and several nephews, and nieces whom loved her very much.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Mike Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill.

Visitation for friends will be on hour prior to service at the funeral home in Oak Hill on Friday, May 23, 2025.
