Rosie E. Bozo, 96 of Bradley, WV passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026. She was born May 2, 1930 at Raleigh, WV.
Rosie was the daughter of the late Anton and Nellie (Byk) Filipek. Rosie was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill, WV. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1948. She worked for 40 years in the United States Department of Agriculture (ASCS) in Beckley, WV.
Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel S. Bozo of 41 years. Her six sisters preceded her in death: Mary Peelish, Stella Novak, Lilly Janice, Blanche Statzer-Champer, Stephanie Walker Steele, and Frances "Jennie" Humphrey. In addition, five brothers preceded her in death: Joseph Filipek, Edward Filipek, Theodore Filipek, Walter Filipek, and Andrew Filipek.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church 129 Elmore Street in Oak Hill, WV 25901 with Father Leonard Smith as Celebrant. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial park in Oak Hill, WV. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to service. Following her wishes she directed that no flowers be sent to her funeral. If you wish to make a donation in her memory send to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church 129 Elmore Street Oak Hill, WV 25901.
Pallbearers will be Rosie's relatives: John Peelish, Brian Linvile, Buddy Dearth, Ted Dixon, Leon Jaroz, and Brian Shorts.
Special thanks to her nephew, Walter Peelish and his wife Kay, for taking care of her in their home for the last fifteen months of her life.
