Rose "Tootsie" Holtsclaw gained her Heavenly wings on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Born March 12, 1939 in Summerlee, WV she was the daughter of the late James Moore and Hazel Cody Moore. Tootsie lived life to the absolute fullest until the end.

To know Tootsie was to love her. She was truly an incredible woman. If she wasn't doin g hair, working around the house, volunteering, or taking care of whoever she saw that had a need, you could find her on the front porch swing sipping coffee.

She gave more of herself to those she loved than most do in 10 lifetimes, and it shows just by asking anyone who knew about her.

Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her first husband, George Holtsclaw; second husband, Bobby Slaughter; and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory in clude her grandchildren, Crystal Chapman and husband Israel, and their children. Ashton Pizza and husband Jordan, Jakob Pennington and wife Megan Black-Pennington, Makenzie "Grace" Chapman, Elijah Chapman, and Aiden Chapman; RJ Roles and wife Jessica and their children, Noah and Jaxon Roles, Jacob Adkins; and granddaughter, Kaydence Adkins; and along with several brothers and sisters.

Graveside rites with burial to follow will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Fayetteville with Pastor Bobby Pauley officiating.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
