Robert Charles "Birdie" Cody, 71, of Scarbro, WV passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026 at CAMC Memorial in Charleston.

Born November 17, 1954 in Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late Elize Cody and Clara (Moore) Cody.

Birdie worked as a Shade Tree Mechanic and in his leisure he enjoyed being outdoors.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Wilma Cody and Georgie Kelly.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving daughter, Samantha Cody; mother of his daughter; sister, Naoma Painter; 6 brothers, Billy Cody, Stanley Cody, Dennis 'Dink" Cody, Curtis Cody, Sid Cody, and Steve Cody; long time friend, Bobby Mack; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Virginia Street Baptist Church 301 Summerlee Avenue Oak Hill WV, 25901 with Pastor Bobby Pauley officiating.
