Rev. Fred Gunter

Rev. Fred Gunter, 92, of Piney View, WV passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Appalachian Reginal Hospital in Beckley, WV.
Born October 27, 1929, in Kenvir, KY he was the son of the late John and Mary Etta Gunter.
Fred worked and retired as an electrician in the coal mines, was a member of the UMWA District WV 17, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, ginsenger, and all around outdoorsman.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Lee Gunter; 2nd wife, Wandalene Wells Gunter; daughter, Margaret Ann Gunter; on, Randall Gunter; granddaughter, Cassandra Harrison; and siblings, Wilda Boggess, Lois Kathleen Brown, Ellis Gunter, and Virgil Gunter.
Those left to cherish his memory include, son, Jason Gunter; daughters, Priscilla Harrison (Steve) and Donna Brewster (WC); wife, Wanda Jean Cales Gunter; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and brother, Melvin Gunter.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Tyree Funeral Home, in Mount Hope, with Pastor Felix Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV.
Visitation for friends will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
