Raymond 'Sparky" Lavern Harris

Raymond "Sparky" Lavern Harris, 73, of Scarbro went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley due to complications from a stroke he had recently endured.

Born September 9, 1952 in Monroe, Michigan he was the son of the late William and Alice Harris.

Raymond was a proud graduate from Summersville High School in Petersburg, Michigan. He worked as a truck driver and in his leisure he enjoyed working on and being in his yard. He especially loved his family.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Linda Weiss and Barbara Harris; and brother, Ronald Harris.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Mary Pennington; 4 children, Brenda (Rick), Lilly Kominek, Stella Kominek, and Colton Kominek; 2 stepdaughters, Georgia Treadway and companion David England and Sylvia Blevins (David); 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Jeanni Johnson; 5 brothers, David Harris (Barb), William Harris (Anita), Doug Harris (Cindy), Kenneth Harris, and Brian Harris (Jami); and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes Mr. Harris will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
