Ray Lewis, Sr. 82, of Oak Hill passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.
Born May 26, 1944 in Winona, WV he was the son of the late Home Franklin Lewis and Evelyn Faye (Bays) Lewis.
Ray graduated from Collins High School and enlisted into the military where he was a proud United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. After the service Ray worked in the coal mines as a conveyor belt operator for over 30 years. In his leisure he enjoyed being outdoors as much as he could do things such as camping and fishing, he loved to travel, and most of all he loved spending time with is precious family.
Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by 1 sister, Sharon Arrington; and 3 brothers, Keith Lewis, Paul Lewis, and Joseph Lewis.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Lila (Pearson) Lewis; 4 sons, Arnold Ray Lewis, Jr. (Kiki), James Lewis, Danny Lewis (Lorna) and Johnny Lewis; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Denny Lewis and Jason Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Mr. Ray Lewis, Sr. wishes he will be cremated with no services at this time.
