Paul E. Allen, 95, of Oak Hill died at home Saturday, September 28, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Faith Pleasant Allen, daughter Kathy Allen Liptak (John) of Radford, VA, Mark Allen of Elkview, WV, grandchildren Ariel Morgan Billotti (Mark) of Morgantown, WV, Christopher Allen, Sacramento, CA, Meg Allen, Charleston, SC, granddaughter in-law Corinne Denyer Morgan of South Charleston, WV, four beautiful great-grandchildren: Conner Morgan, Adam Morgan, Charlotte Ariel Billotti, Lilly Billotti and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Paul was born in Oak Hill, WV on August 27, 1929, to Posie (Nugen) and Carl Allen of Oak Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Allen of Baltimore, MD, sister Helen Costy of Cincinnati, OH, brother Aubrey Allen of Oak Hill, WV, sister Eva Allen of Oak Hill, WV and grandson David Morgan of South Charleston, WV.
Paul was a devout Christian having been a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church since the age of 9. He devoted countless hours serving his church family on the Board of Trustees, Board of Deacons, and as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader. He and his brother Aubrey volunteered their time and talents caring for and repairing their church home.
Paul graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1947 and pursued two years of engineering studies at West Virginia University before enlisting in the United States Navy. He served during the Korean War as a radar operator in the VX-4 Squadron, stationed at the Naval Air Force Base in Patuxent, MD.
Paul married the love of his life, Faith Pleasant on December 25, 1955, and they shared 68 wonderful years together. Paul spent most of his career as an estimator with Radford and Farley Construction Company (later Radford and Radford) in Beckley, WV. He was known for his dedication, his ability with numbers, and his generous spirit; always willing to lend his time and skills to help others. Paul was also a talented woodworker, crafting beautiful pieces with care and precision.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 1, at the Oak Hill Baptist Church from noon until 2pm with the funeral service at 2pm, the Reverends Sam Blaylock and David Bush officiating. Interment will be at Highlawn Memorial Park immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Oak Hill Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
