Patrick R. Day , 89, of Oak Hill, WV died on Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home.
Born February 12, 1929 at Gatewood, WV he was the son of the late Dewey Ralph and Kathleen Seymour White Day.
Pat was a retired surface mining superintendent. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Ruth Grubb, Christine Thomas, Betty Seelinger, Francis Maiden, Millie Radde, Arvada Ashworth, Colleen Day, Dr Day, and Doug Day.
Survivors include wife, Bettie Puckett Day; son, Michael (Carol) Day; daughter, Cindy (Mathew) Abbot; grandchildren, Levi (Lindsey) Day, Katlyn Day, Sam Abbot, and Tate Abbot; great grandchild, Marleigh Day; and a sister, Katie Pennington
Services will be on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Bishop Sam R. Calloway, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pat Day Memorial Scholarship Fund, OHHS/CHS Alumni Association, PO Box 462, Oak Hill, WV 25901.
