Patrick William Canterbury

Patrick William Canterbury, 76, of Pax passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.

Born December 13, 1947 in Pax, WV he was the son of the late Aubrey and Barbara Humphrey Canterbury.

Patrick was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran. He enlisted into the Marine Corps June 5, 1966 and was a Vietnam Vet serving from December 1967 to December 1968 in Vietnam. After coming home he worked and retired as a coal truck driver and in his leisure he enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns, cars, cats, and especially his dogs.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by daughter, Carrie Canterbury; and 3 sisters, Connie, Mitzi, and Janice.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Stephanie "Jill" Weeks Canterbury; 2 sons, Don Dicken, and Larry Maynor, Jr.; 2 grandchildren; sister, Judy Barley; brother, George Canterbury (Donna); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Dwayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pax Community Cemetery in Pax, WV.

Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Mount Hope.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard.
