Patricia Lou Salisbury Mason, 74, of Mount Hope, WV passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Bowers Hospice House surrounded by her family with love and light of God after a long illness.
She was a 1964 honor graduate of Mount Hope High School. She retired from the Fayette County Board of Education after over 30 years of service. She was a member of the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church for almost four decades where she played the organ, was a previous Sunday school teacher, nursery worker, and a youth group assistant. She was previous President of the Mount Hope High School Alumni Association where her heart will always remain.
She was always laughing, sending cards to everyone, loved animals, traveling, baking, Elvis Presley, WVU, and the Mount Hope Mustangs.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emery and Wanda “Eloise” Salisbury; and brothers, Emery Jr. and Darrell Salisbury.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years Michael “Mike” Mason; son, Brian Mason; daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Mason-Lucas, and husband John of Bridgeport; her beloved cat Brewster; her grand animals and many other strays or rescues she has taken in to care for. Her sisters, Sherry Pauley, Brenda Pyatt and husband, Melvin, and Deanna Salisbury; brother-in-law, Jack Mason and wife, Norma of OH; sisters-in-law, Hulda Williams of OH and Lynn Kern and husband, John of VA; Many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great great nephews and nieces.

All her wishes were followed down to her Mount Hope Mustangs sweatshirt and her Blue and Gold socks.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rahim and all his staff, Dr. Siddiqi, Dr. Bailey and his staff, Dr. Faheem. Raleigh General Hospital Stepdown and SICU staff, and all the Angels who work for the Bowers Hospice House including Captain Jack who all gave such excellent care and compassion. Our Church family at the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church, our family and all our friends for all their love and support through this difficult time.
Due to Covid restrictions a private family service will be held and will plan a celebration of her life at a later date. Pastors Michael Worley, Daniel Legg, Wayne Peters, and Richard Allen officiating.
