Pastor William Ray Skeldon, 96, of Oak Hill passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Hidden Valley Nursing Home in Oak Hill.

Born Decemeber 25, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio he was the son of the late William Jesse Skeldon and Gladys Fern Latham Skeldon.

From 1956 until 2015 "Bill" pastored 7 congregations in 3 different states the last in Oak Hill. For 43 years Bill worked as a school teacher for several years. He also san in several musical productions by the Civil Theater in South Bend, IN. An avid runner he ran and finished 7 Marine Corps Marathons in Washington D.C.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Gene Spahr Skeldon; and his first born son, William Grant Skeldon.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving sons, Mark Edward Skeldon, John Warren Skeldon, and Matthew Dale Skeldon; grandchildren, Jenna Arginbright, Suzanne, and Katherine; and great grandchild Jaida Rose Clark.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.

Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Oak Hill.
