Nellie Filmon Chmara

Nellie Filmon Chmara , 92, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at her home.
Born September 09, 1926 in Russia, she was the daughter of the late Filmon and Mary Zolmerchuck Chmara.
Nellie was a member of the Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, Oak Hill for many years. She was a 1945 graduate of Oak Hill High School, earned a BA at West Virginia Tech and a Master's Degree at Marshall University. Miss Chmara taught at Collins and Oak Hill High Schools for 26 years.
Two brothers, Paul Chmara and John Chmara and nephew, Gary Chmara preceded her in death.
Survivors include three nephews, Paul (Sherry) Chmara, John (Betty) Chmara and John Thomas (Tamara) Chmara; great nieces, Kara (Owen) Kirkpatrick and Shannon (Erik) Humphries; sister-in-law, Mary Chmara; and close friends the Gehman Family.
Services will be on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Oak Hill with Mother Maggie Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
