Melvin "Butch" Adair Painter

Melvin "Butch" Adair Painter, 79, of Beckley, WV passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at CAMC Memorial in Charleston.

Born March 19,, 1946 in Cirtsville, WV he as the son of the late Paul Wallen and Elsie Painter Wilkerson.

Melvin worked as a truck driver and in his leisure he enjoyed going to antique car shows, working on his trucks, and watching horses.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his close friend, Audrey Painter; son, Melvin Painter, Jr. and sisters, Tammy Bowyer and Patty Davis.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his daughter, Melisa Pennington; long time girlfriend, Theresa Hughes; grandchildren, Matthew Painter (Christy), Frankie Pennington II and girlfriend Sara, Tiffany Pennignton, Ty Painter (Andrea), and Ramey Painter; 12 great grandchildren;  sisters, Sandy Vass and Cheryl Scarbro; and brother in law, Rick Davis.

Graveside rites with burial to follow will be 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Pax Community Cemetery in Pax with Pastor Jim Bowyer officiating.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
