Mary Beth Ward (née Wilson), born on October 18, 1965, in Huntington, West Virginia, passed away on May 29, 2025, in Beckley, West Virginia. She was 59 years old.

Mary’s life was one of compassion, resilience, and a deep love for the natural world. Those who knew her were touched by her generous spirit and unwavering dedication to the happiness and well-being of others. Her selflessness was evident in every aspect of her life—she consistently placed the needs of those around her before her own.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter Tatum Ward of Beckley and son Michael (Asia)Ward of Ashland Kentucky. Mary was also a grandmother to Grant, Quinn, and Jayce, who she loved dearly. Brothers Mark Wilson of Grayson Kentucky and Charles Wilson of Idaho. Mr. Buster(Bubba)Brown her beloved dog-son. Her partner of 19 years, Bill Knight, stood by her side with love and support throughout their time together. Bill opened many doors to help cultivate Mary's passion for life and nature.

Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Amanda, as well as her brother Donnie Wilson and sister Brenda Cremeans of Huntington West Virginia. Their memories remained close to Mary’s heart throughout her life.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Mary found joy and peace in nature. Whether rafting, fishing, camping, watching birds in quiet contemplation, tending to her garden with care, or hiking through the hills of West Virginia, she embraced the beauty of the world around her with open arms. These passions reflected not only a love for nature but also a desire to live fully and mindfully.

Mary’s legacy is one of kindness and quiet strength—a woman who gave freely of herself so that others might feel seen, heard, and loved. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
