Martha Elizabeth "Libby" Williams, 84, of Long Branch, entered into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Bowers Hospice House with her loving family by her side.
Martha "Libby" was born on April 16, 1942, in Krebs, WV, to Lonnie and Geneva Lafferty.
Martha led a long and happy life with her husband and four children in Long Branch. In 1987 Martha went back to school and fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Martha was a member of Long Branch Methodist Church. Martha was a special person, wife, mother, mommaw, and great grandma. Her family was her focus, always hugging, and full of love. Remembered for her large family get togethers and homecooked meals. She never missed a sports event, parade, or party for her grandchildren. She was always there to cheer them on.
Martha enjoyed many activities, she was an amazing artist and painter. She made many handmade quilts, one for each member of her family. She loved to garden especially her vegetable garden and loved flowers.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Geneva Lafferty; husband of 62 years, Biddle Williams, Sr.; son, Biddle Williams, Jr.; granddaughter, Amanda Mullins; six sisters, Glema Cogar, Joy Cranfield, Mary Wiley, Patricia Lively, Diana Vento, and Bea Bosely; and two brothers, Ronnie Lafferty and Beldon Lafferty.
Martha is survived by her children, Crystal Wriston (Greg), Julia Work (Don), and Susan Turner; grandchildren, Jason Mullins (Ashley), Geneva Blake (Justin), Justin Williams (Becky), Joshua Newsom and Andrew Work; great grandchildren, Kailey Mullins, Emma Mullins, Zoe Blake, Jackson Blake, Eric Williams, Abigail Williams; sister, Rose Bragg; and brother, Ronnie Lafferty.
Services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel 999 Jones Avenue Oak Hill WV, 25901 with Pastor Jeremy Blankenship officiating. Martha will be buried at the Dock Lively Cemetery, Long Branch.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
