Lowell Gene Garten. 89, of Oak Hill passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born April 20, 1933 in Campbells Creek, WV he was the son of the late Buster and Margie Spurlock Garten.
Lowell was a proud retired United States Army Veteran and a member of the Honor Guard which he took great pride in. Lowell was a retired coal miner and loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Freda Fay Young Garten; brothers, Lavon Carson and Roger.
Those left to honor his memories include sister, Beverly Pittarelli and husband Ben; daughter Tamela Willis and fiancé Darmie Fox; son, Todd Garten and wife Sunny; grandchildren, Tiffany Robinson and Husband Chris, Tristan Garten and wife Vanessa, Alex Garten and wife Andrea, Colton and Logan Willis, and Sophia Garten; great grandchildren, Broc Robinson, Isabella, Adalay, Jaden, Max, Hayden, and Hailey.
In keeping with Lowell's wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
