Lora Leilich, 59, of Edmond, WV, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born to Dolly Franklin and the late Joe Franklin, Lora graduated from Midland Trail High School in 1985.
She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Roger Leilich; her children Ashley Hunt, Aaron Hunt, and Roger (Savannah) Leilich; and her daughter-in-law, whom she loved as her own, Tiffany Leilich.
Her grandchildren—Braxton, Brantlee, Ryder, Canyon, Henry, Anja, Scarlett, and Killian—were the center of her world and the brightest joy of her life. She also leaves behind her loyal dog, Jazzi.
Lora is also survived by her siblings: Robyn (Matt), Brenda (Tim), Lisa (Roger), Joey (Jennie), Mike (Sue), Terry (Jaime), and Angie, and she was preceded in death by her brother Randy.
Lora loved her sister- and brother-in-law deeply and was “Nanny” to all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She held each one close to her heart.
She leaves behind countless friends who became more like family because of her warmth, humor, and loyalty.
Lora lived life to the fullest and fiercely fought her cancer. She loved Steelers football and never missed a game. She loved 4-wheeling, fishing, campfires, camping trips, cookouts, and any gathering that brought the people she loved together. Blasting her hip hop music, you could always hear Lora long before she arrived. In spite of Roger disliking her choice of music, she would smile and turn it up. She was the life of every party and the heart of every room. If you spent time with Lora, you could not help but laugh, dance, and have fun.
Beyond the laughter and fun, Lora had a heart bigger than most people ever realized. Those closest to her knew the depth of her loyalty and love.
The family would like to extend a very special thank-you to her sister-in-law, Lisa Ramsey, who was by her side from day one—attending appointments, advocating for her, and being her rock through the entire journey. Additional thanks to her cancer care team at UVA, and to Staci Isaacs and Stephanie Isaacs-Karnes from Hospice of Southern WV, whose kindness and compassion meant so much in her final days.
Lora’s legacy is simple: family first, love big, fight hard, and never miss a chance to make memories. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, courage, and unwavering love.
