Linda L. Wilson Sharpe, of Oak Hill, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at her home. Born in Page, West Virginia, on August 12, 1944, to the late Donald F. and Hazel Davis Wilson, Linda was a proud Veteran of the US Army, and spent many years working for Sears in both Albuquerque, New Mexico and Beckley, West Virginia.
Brothers and sisters who predeceased her are Richard T. “Babe” Wilson, R. Dale Wilson, Michael “Mick” Wilson, Donald G. “Tink” Wilson, Wanda Sue Aliff, Joyce Ann Pauli, and Gloria Faye Hammer; and, two nephews, Charles A. Wilson and Donald G. Wilson, Jr.
Linda was the baby of the family, and is survived by her eldest brother, Francis “Buster” Wilson, Sr., who resides in the CLC at Beckley’s VA Medical Center. Left to cherish precious memories are her niece, Jody Watson-Nibert (Larry) and their four children, Lydia, Trinity, Gwendolyn and Sebastian, with whom Linda formed and maintained a very special bond as a grandparent and dear friend. Linda also loved and leaves behind nieces and nephews Francis, Jr., Nancy, Patricia, Sandra, and Christy; Richard, Jr., Donna, Donald and Thomas; David, James, Julie, Michael, and Matthew; Tim, Tammy and Kevin; Lisa and B.R., Jr.; Rebecca, Steven, Patricia and Alvin; Michael, Kimberly, Janie and Shaun. Also surviving are brother-in-law, Benjamin R. Aliff, Sr., of Oak Hill, and sister-in-law, Sandra Ellison Wilson, of Puyallup, Washington. Special mention must be given to Linda’s best friend, Doris Evans, whose daily phone calls meant so much; and, to her four-legged companion, Baby.
A small memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill, with Pastor Delmas Wolfe. Linda loved to laugh, so please bring your happy memories and funny stories about Linda to share with our family.
We extend our humble and grateful appreciation to officers from Oak Hill Police Department and West Virginia State Police, for their overwhelming compassion and thoughtfulness in assisting our family, along with Christina Ritchie-Bryant, Jan Care Emergency personnel, and Bret Rust with Tyree Funeral Home.
Linda was listed with the WVU Human Gift Registry in Morgantown. After her wish to be cremated is fulfilled, her final resting place will be in High Lawn Cemetery, Oak Hill, West Virginia.
