Linda Hensley Grimes

Linda Hensley Grimes, 75, of Beckley, WV received her healing December 15th 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

Born December 24th 1949 to Charles and Collen Hensley in Cook Town, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Brenda Beitz, Margie Hensley, Robin Johnston and her brother Charles “Chuck” Hensley.

Linda was a member of the Herndon Freewill Baptist Church where she was a Granny to all. Serving as a Sunday School teacher, Ladies Auxiliary President and Gramady Gram. Granny loved and served her Lord and the church in many ways but was known for her card ministry. Granny found immense joy in sending her cards and even when she felt bad she made sure to write a little note to encourage someone else. Many people say her cards showed up right when they needed a little reminder. Granny’s smile was contagious and would light up the room. Knowing you had Granny in your corner made life a lot easier because you knew she would cover you in prayers.

In the early years of Linda’s life she served as a Girl Scout leader and was always involved in her children's activities. She worked as a LPN for over 30 years always showing her patients love and compassion. Linda was the family and friends go to person, when after the death of her sister Brenda she stepped in to help her niece Tara and family navigate life. Stepping up to help lifelong friend Buddy in the raising of his daughters will forever be appreciated. To know Linda was to love her.

Those left to cherish her memory included her husband of 56 years Johnny Grimes, an angel on earth to her children Kent Grimes and Christina Lefler and her husband Roger. Grandchildren who was the light of her life Jacob Lefler and wife Megan, RJ and Alexandria Lefler. Great grandchildren who brought her so much joy Colton and Maeleigh Lefler. Brother in law Joe Beitz and sisters Pat and Barbara Hensley. Nephews and nieces who she loved dearly. A church family and a multitude of friends.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped in the care of Linda.

Services will be 7:00 P.M., Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Herndon Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Massie and Rev. Brad Green officiating. 

Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Committal services will be 3:00 P.M., Friday, December 19, 2025 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. 

Pallbearers will be Jacob Lefler, Rick Taylor, Junior Hensley, Jeff Tolliver, Casey Tilley, Mason Bennett, Eugene Monk and Joey Hodges.

Honorary pallbearers will be RJ Lefler and Buddy Tolliver.
