Linda Jane (Elmore) Rainey

Linda Jane Elmore Rainey, 78, of Hilltop passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Born April 28, 1947 in Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late Otha and Minnie Hutchson Elmore.

Linda retired from Raleigh General Hospital and in her leisure she enjoyed playing Yahtzee and making her crafts. She was of the Baptist faith and her greatest love in life was her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored.

Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Minnie "Suzie" Harvey.

Those left to cherish her is her loving husband of 53 years, John M. Rainey, Sr.; daughter, Elizabeth Clay (James); son, John M. Rainey, Jr. (Heather); grandchildren, Landon, Cara, Levi, Crysta, Amber, Nicholas, Jimmy, Jamie, Brittany, and Evan; 9 great grandchildren, and sister, Carol Smith.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Daniel Harding officiating. In keeping with Linda's wishes following the service she will be cremated.

Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the funeral home in Oak Hill.
