Joyce Kay Smith Stover, 76, of Oak Hill, WV passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born October 20, 1942 in Whipple, WV she was the daughter of the late Leo and Mattie Roman Smith.
Joyce was a 1961 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill. She was a loving wife and mother whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Stover, Sr.; sisters, Joan and Patty Smith; granddaughter, Jessa Ann Canaday; and great granddaughter Serenity Canaday.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Tammy Canaday (David), Pamela Audrick and companion, Scott Kidd, Lisa Canaday (Karry), and Elaine Stover; sons Charles Stover, Jr. (Rita), Chris Stover (Rhonda); grandchildren, Anthony Canaday, Eric Canaday, Stephanie Adkins, Matthew Adkins, Ryan Adkins, Jason Canaday, Amber Canaday, Arianna Canaday, Jacob Canaday, Jonathan Stover, and Felicia Stover; great grandchild, Xavier Canaday; and brothers Roger and Donald Smith.
Funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, October 4, 2019 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Jim Spack officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations of sympathy be made to the funeral home to help defray from funeral expenses.
