Johnnie Ray Allen, Sr., 73, of Prosperity passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026 at CAMC Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, WV.

Born December 9, 1952 in Beckley, WV he was the son of the late Burkie Allen and Billie Goodman Allen.

Johnnie was a member of the UMWA working in the coal mines with 30 years of service and retiring as a Mining Manager. He also worked for Armeo and Peabody Steele. In his leisure eh enjoyed riding motorcycles, listening to music, and playing his guitar. Johnnie had a strong work ethic as he liked to stay busy even after retiring.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Sydney Allen and Randy Allen.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his 2 loving sons, Johnny Allen II (Kristen) of Beckley and Kevin Wayne Allen of Daytona Beach, FL; and 1 grandson.

In keeping with Mr. Allen's wishes he will be cremated with no services at this time.
