John Robert Hager, 65, of Beckley passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.

Born July 23, 1960 in Beckley, WV. he was the son of the late John Henry Hager and Lorraine Frances Mclain Hager.

John worked and retired from the Beckley Newspaper and in his leisure he enjoyed watching his Minnesota Vikings every Sunday as he was a avid fan, collecting music, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his sister, Janet Miller.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Susan Warner Hager; 3 children, Brooke, Brandy, and Charles; and 8 grandchildren, Austin, Elijah, David, Hunter, Elisabeth, Brayden, Livey, and Ellie.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Hope with Pastor Dana Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Mount Hope.
