John Addison Alexander, Jr.

John Addison Alexander, Jr. 76, of Oak Hill passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born January 25, 1947 in Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late John Addison and Sophia Lazarsky Alexander.

John was a proud 1964 graduate from Collins High School, was a member of the Tuesday, Thursday, old timers golf at Bridge haven, Little League Coach at Oak Hill, a 50 year member of the Oak Hill Fire Department, a devoted Christian, and John was a proud, devoted, and passionate 50 year Employee of Tyree Funeral Home and made sure every family was taken care of professionally.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Willie Sue Brash.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his 2 loving sons, John Alexander III (Kristie) and Michael Alexander (Kathy); 3 grandchildren, Keylie Alexander, Kourtney Alexander, and Jacoby Alexander; companion and caregiver Debbie Persinger; sister, Peggy Broughman; and brother, Walter Ed Alexander (Judy).

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.

Visitation for friends will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the funeral home in Oak Hill.
