Jesse Matthew Denny

Jesse Matthew Denny, 69, of Mount Hope passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born December 12, 1956 in Beckley, WV he was the son of the late Roscoe Denny and Thelma Meyers Bryant.

Jesse worked as a section laborer for Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was the beloved Pastor of Spruce Tabernacle Church. He was a man of Faith who never complained, loved going to church praising the Lord with all his heart. In his leisure he enjoyed carpentry work as he built a extra room onto there home, working in the yard, planting flowers, and most of all he loved spending time with his church family and especially his family.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Bert Denny.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Jinny Trent Denny; precious son, Corban Matthew Denny; brother, William Denny (Melissa); half brother, Sam Denny; half sister, Becky Denny; special sister-in-law, Angie McClellan (Sam); special nephew, Brandon Mcintyre and his wife, Hanna; great niece, McKinley Mcintyre; cousin, Margie Ferguson; special friend who was like a sister to him, Debbie Hatcher; and all of his church family.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Hope with Pastor Roger Toney and Pastor Charles Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Pax Community Cemetery, Pax. 

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service a the funeral home in Mount Hope.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy be made to help defray unexpected funeral expenses to Tyree Funeral Home 999 Jones Avenue Oak Hill, WV 25901.
