Jess Edgar Kelly

Jess Edgar Kelly, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. 

Born February 16, 1946. He was the son of the late Jess Ebenezer and Beulah Ann (Parker) Kelly. 

Jess was a former coal miner with 30 plus years of service and a member of UMWA. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County and last surviving member of his immediate family. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Ann (Cody) Kelly; his daughter, Lisa Lynn Smith; three sons, David Wayne Smith, Jessie Edward Kelly, and Michael Lee Kelly; and two brothers, Lester Kelly and Carl Kelly. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Peewee Kelly; four grandchildren, Ashley Jenkins and her husband, Christopher, Brandon Kelly, Morgan Smith, and Angelina Scarbrough; and fourteen great grandchildren. 

Services will be 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Pastor Bobby Pauley officiating. 

Friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home. 

In keeping with Jess's wishes, he will be cremated following the service.
