Ruth Jean Smith Skaggs Marcum

Ruth Jean Smith Skaggs Marcum, age 86, of Oak Hill, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Hill Top Center.
Born December 10, 1932 at Red Star, WV, she was the daughter of the late Orval and Carrie Buckland Smith.
Ruth had worked in retail and as a seamstress for Stone and Thomas. She attended the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle.
Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Skaggs, by her second husband William Riley Marcum and by a brother Robert Smith and by a sister Mary Watkins.
Left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Janet Nicholas (Joseph) of Fayetteville and Rebecca Meadows (Mark) of Oak Hill by her three grandchildren, Beth Ann Granger of Georgia, Joseph Scott Nicholas and Sarah Nicholas both of Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM. Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:30 AM. until service hour of 1:00 PM
