Janet Slater

Janet "Jan" Swanigan Slate, 68, of Fayetteville, WV died on Monday, May 5, 2003 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV following a short illness Born July 19, 1934 at Fayetteville, WV she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Iva Workman Cowles. Mrs. Slater was a retired waitress and a Protestant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Frank Slater and by brothers, Virgil, Bill and Carl. Survivors include a daughter, Patty Teeter of Florida; sons, John Whimley of Oak HIll, Steven Slater of Florida, Curtis Slater of Germany and Carl Slater of Fayetteville; sister, Margie Grose; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Huse Memorial Park in Fayetteville with Rev. Jackie McQuire officiating. Burial will be at Huse Memorial Park., Fayetteville, WV.
