Irene Lester

Lilly Irene Lester, 82, of New Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley. 

Born June 7, 1942, at Lamar, WV, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Edna Irene (Holler) Hale. 

Irene was a homemaker, she was a member of the New Richmond Chapel, and was a devoted wife and mother. In her leisure she enjoyed reading her Bible and working puzzles. 

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Owen Lester; daughter, Katherine Kitty Myers; two sons, John Wesley Lester and Michael Lester; and one granddaughter, Tiffany Danielle Smith; and two brothers, Jimmy Hale and Chester Hale

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted daughter, Mae Graham and her husband, Robert of Tennessee; son-in-law, Albert Myers of New Richmond; two sisters, Freda Mae Iaizza of New Jersey and Mary Tarantino of Conneticut; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; four step sisters, Kate Roberts, Rosa Graybeal, JoAnn Gilbert, and Vivian Farley; and two step brothers, Homer and Curtis Lester.  

Services will be 12 Noon, Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the New Richmond Chapel, New Richmond with Rev. Jack Meadows and Doug Thorn officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickory Ridge Cemetery, Bud Mountain.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. 

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
