Ingeborg "Inge' Helga
(Grill) Williams
Jul 2, 1938 — Aug 18, 2026
Pax, West Virginia
Ingeborg (Inge) Williams, 88, of Pax, went home to be with the Lord August 18, 2026. Born July 2, 1938, in Augsburg, Germany to Josef and Eugenie Grill. Inge met and married the love of her life Claredon (Todd) Williams, while he was stationed in Germany in 1958. They were blessed with their first daughter Rebecca (Becky) in 1959. They moved to the United States after a few years eventually settling in Todd’s hometown of Pax in the house Inge referred to as the real-life Green Acres. In 1972 they were blessed with their second daughter, Julia. Inge worked at New River Banking and Trust, later known as BB&T, until she retired. Inge and Todd spend many happy years together until his passing in 1993. Even though she experienced great loss, Inge continued forward, surrounded by the family, friends, and memories that meant so much to her. Three years after Todd’s passing Inge found love again with Jack Thompson who she married and spent six happy years with until his passing in 2002. In 1996, her only granddaughter, Bailee, was born, bringing another special joy into her life.Inge was a woman of faith who carried her love for the Lord throughout her life. She enjoyed the simple things in life, but nothing brought her quite as much joy as spending time in her flower beds. Inge lived a life filled with love, laughter, and family. She leaves behind a lifetime of stories and memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Eugenie Grill; husband Claredon Williams; second husband Jack Thompson; and daughter Rebecca Wood.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Julia Williams; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Bailee and Jordan Russell; her great grand-dog, Cade, who chewed his way through much of her furniture as a puppy; her son-in-law, Thomas Wood; her son-in-law, Robert Hinzman; her last remaining sister-in-law, Sharon Holstein and her husband, Steve; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog, Macy, who remained faithfully by her side until the very end.
In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated and no formal services will be held. Instead, take a moment to remember her and think of her stories, her laughter, and the memories she left behind.
