Helen Lucinda Plumley, 96, of Mount Hope, West Virginia, passed away peacefully in her home on May 6th, 2026. Born on August 10, 1929, Helen lived a long and fulfilling life devoted to her family, faith, and community.
Helen was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her daughter Wilma L. Plumley; sons, Willie (Eddie) Plumley and Clarence (Junior) Plumley; 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Her love for her family was boundless and unwavering.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence E. Plumley; her parents Bessie and Joe Davis; her son Robert A. Plumley and son-in-law Donald Ray Childers; as well as her cherished dog Buffy.
Helen’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found spiritual solace at Little Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her Bible daily. Attending Sunday services brought her immense joy and strengthened her connection to God.
In addition to her devotion to faith and family, Helen found happiness in simple pleasures. She loved sitting on the front porch swing with her grandchildren while enjoying warm weather. Her beloved dog Buffy was a constant companion who brought comfort to her days.
Helen’s legacy is one of selflessness and love. She was a woman who would stop at nothing to help a loved one in need—a testament to the depth of her compassion and generosity.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Little Valley Baptist Church in Mount Hope with Pastor Kenny Truman officiating. Inurnment will follow in the family cemetery.
