George "Junior" Manford Lechalk, 84, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at CAMC Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill with his family by his side.
Born September 12, 1941 in Sun, WV he was the son of the late George and Rose Jacobowski Lechalk.
Junior graduated from Diesel Mechanic College in Tennessee and went on to become a diesel mechanic expert who could build any type of motor and if he could dream it then he was able to make or build anything with his hands as he was a man with many talents. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fayetteville for 10 plus years. In his leisure he enjoyed trout fishing, woodworking as he made furniture for his family, gardening, cooking, arranging flowers for his wife at the cemetery, and spending time with his family as he was a kind and gentleman who never met a stranger. He will be forever remembered as a man who drove his Yellow 1971 Chevy truck as everyone knew him for it as old Yeller and being dedicated to his loving wife Lucy of 49 years as they had special love that no one could ever break.
Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille "Lucy" Fern Kettlewell Lechalk.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving son, George Michael Lechalk (Anita); grandchildren, George Matthew Lechalk and Christopher Lechalk; a special niece who was like a daughter to him Nanette James (George); sister, Mary Ann Ward (Ray) of Fredicksburg, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fayetteville, WV with Pastor Josh Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
