Frances Susan Holliday Phillips, 92, of Appomattox, VA passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Babcock Manor in Virginia.
Born May 5, 1926 in Low Moor, VA she was the daughter of the late Virgil Cecil and Mary Eva Adwell Holliday.
Frances was a retired cook for Mount Hope Elementary School. She was a loyal and faithful member of the Mount Hope Baptist Temple, and a current member of Grace Hills Baptist Church in Appomattox, VA.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband, John Julian Phillips, Sr., three brothers, Cecil, Merle, and Guy Holliday; two sisters, Ina Parrish, and Fleta Bryant; and a son-in-law, Pete Mobley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Charles (Stephanie) Phillips, Linda Pennington (Bill) Peters, Sandra Pennington Mobley, Wayne Phillips, and John (Nancy) Phillips; grandchildren, James Peters, David (Karen) Peters, Scott Mobley, Mark Mobley, Sarah (Jacobo) Phillips, Haley Phillips, Scott (Dorinda) Phillips, and Julie (Brad) Phillips Patterson; and many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Chaplain George Romage officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. To 8:00 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
