Eugene Edgar Absher, Jr.

Eugene Edgar Absher, Jr. 80 of Oak Hill passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Hidden Valley Center in Oak Hill.

Born May 4, 1945 in Ansted, WV he was the son of the late Eugene Edgar Absher, Sr. and Vada Hurt Absher.

Eugene was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. After serving and fighting for his Country he went on work as a first mate for AEP Riverboat.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Absher; three sisters, Margaret Absher (Anderson), Catherine Absher (Foster), and Patricia Cooper (Absher); one brother, Lester Absher; and his closest companion, his dog, Brownie who passed away in October. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Teresa McMinn of Mississippi; two sisters, Joyce Ann Absher (Westfall) and Vicki Jo Absher; and close cousins, Dee Absher (Sizemore) and David Absher. 

In keeping with Mr. Eugene Absher, Jr. wishes he will be cremated with no services at this time.
