Ernest Eugene Wickline, Sr.

It is with great sadness that we announce Ernest Eugene Wickline, Sr., 87, departed from this life on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Lindside Healthcare Center, Lindside, WV. 

"Ernie" was born September 18, 1938, to the late Rexford Wickline and Dana LaFon Wickline in Lindside, WV. 

Ernie loved the little town of Mount Hope, WV and lived there for over 40 years. He was a long time member of the Mount Hope Presbyterian Church and served as a Councilman for 12 years. Ernie was very active in helping the community of Mount Hope including serving as the towns building inspector for years and worked with multiple entities and agencies assisting them with the Dun loup Creek Stream Restoration Project. He was presently an active member of the Bradley Presbyterian Church in Bradley, WV. Most importantly, Ernie was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army and his service was a defining aspect of his life. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juanita Wickline; brothers, Marshall Wickline and Sam Wickline; and sister, Nancy Wickline Mann. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Rebecca Williams (Rick) of Mount Hope, Ernest Wickline, Jr. of Mount Hope, Sherry Johnson of Beckley, and Joseph Wickline (Beverly) of Beckley; stepchildren, Toby Withrow and Michael Kincaid of Mount Hope; sisters, Christine Clemmons, Marie Braddock, and Lula Meadows (Larry); brother, Paul Wickline (Merlene); grandchildren, Mathew Wickline, Joshua Williams (Autumn), Sara Turner (Christopher), Cody Wickline (Lakota), Caleb Wickline; step granddaughter, Colleen Withrow; three great grandchildren, Hunter Wickline, Jeremiah Turner, and Maeva Wickline; and the mother of his children, former wife, Charlotte Wickline. 

A memorial service will be held 2:00P.M., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Bradley Presbyterian Church, 310 Maple Lane, Bradley, WV with his nephew, James Agee officiating.
