Donald Ray Shockey

Donald Ray Shockey, 76, of Hilltop, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Bowers Hospice House.

Born December 20, 1949, at Page, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Willie (Haskett) Shockey. 

Donald was a former coalminer and worked at the Steel Mill. He was of the Baptist faith and was very proud of his 18 years of sobriety. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby, Jerry, Gary, Johnny, Tommy, and infant brother, Jimmy; and his sisters, Garnet Vickers, Wanda Farmer, and infant sister, Beulah. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Shane Shockey of Petersburg; to sisters, Teressa Sydnor of Oak Hill and his twin sister, Donna Strickland and her husband, Danny of Georgia; two grandsons, Blaine and Talon Shockey of Petersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no services.
