Donald Edward Atha

Donald Edward Atha, 72, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Born June 30, 1953 in Beckley he was the son of the late Robert Lee Atha and Donzella Marie Smith Atha.

Donald was a graduate from Collins High School and after graduating he enlisted into the military where he was a a proud united States Navy Veteran. After the Navy Mr. Atha worked for the Postal Service for 31 years. In his leisure he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, playing with his animals, Planting and gardening his flowers, and building aquariums. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Dean Atha.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife Jennifer Nunley Atha; 6 sons, Zachary Atha (Jennifer), Jared Atha, Gabriel Atha, Samuel Atha, Matthew Atha, and Jonathan "JT" Atha; 7 grandchildren, Zayah, Maddy, Aria, Brooklen, Fiona, Nova, and Kanan; a sister, Victoria Dacal; 2 brothers, Robert Atha and Chris Atha; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service held at a later date.
