David Franklin McKinney, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Franklin McKinney Jr., who left this world on March 5th. He was born on May 12, 1970, and lived a life full of love, and unforgettable memories.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret St. Claire, and his sisters, Patricia Neal and Donna Basham. Whom he missed very deeply.

He was a man who valued lifelong friendships, holding close bonds with friends like Lewie Sturgill and Jeffery James, along with many others who stood by his side throughout the years. Those friendships made him who he was. More like a brotherhood - that literally lasted a whole lifetime.

David is survived by his father, David McKinney Sr.; his daughter, Summer McKinney; his beloved granddaughter, Zember Lusk; his sister, Irene Cella; and Summer’s mother, whom he loved until the day he died.

He found joy in the simple things in life, especially fishing and hunting. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, as well as a passion for knives and guns—interests that I know brought him peace and happiness.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for those who were close to him. His daughter, Summer, and his father, David, would sincerely appreciate anyone who would like to come and honor his memory.
