David Ray Ford, 80, of Scarbro passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Born September 12, 1945 in Scarbro, WV he was the son of the late Lundy Ford and Edith Thompson Ford.

David was a proud United States Army Veteran. After the serving his country, he went to work i the coal mines and retired after 29 years as a surface miner. In his leisure he enjoyed restoring old cars as he built one from the ground up and even restored a car for his son a 1967 Mustang. He was a sports enthusiast as he loved watching sports and playing softball. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren as he was there fun-loving grandpa.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sister, Patricia Mooney; and brother, Robert Ford.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Caroleigh Rinehart Ford; daughter, Tammy Anglin of Charleston, WV; sons, David Ford, Jr. of Durham, NC and Scott Ford (Tanya) of Oak Hill; 7 grandchildren, Charles Painter, Daniel Painter, Michael Painter, Dakota Miller, Blake Ford, Brooke Ford, Chelsey, and Fisher Ford; numerous great grandchildren; and sister, Deloris Hall.

Celebration of life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Jim Truman officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Oak Hill.
